Warehouse Management Software

Elliott offers a powerful Warehouse Management System. It is designed as a fully automated system for managing warehouse inventory by supporting bar-code scanning. It takes Elliott's Multi-Bin one step beyond by further reducing paperwork and data entry. As a result, it improves overall productivity and increases data accuracy.

Elliott WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) supports serial number and multi-bin tracking.

WMS Shipping Scanning Process Using Mobile Device

In this example, a picker has a bunch of orders to pick. A "staging batch" is created by a manager. The picker takes a cart with a mobile device to pick this batch.

In this case, the picker use a Apple iTune which is the size of a iPhone 5 but less expensive. He also use a ring scanner so both of his hands are free to move boxes. The mobile device directs him to the bins to pick up the needed items. He picks the items from the bin and places them on the cart to scan each item.

Elliott WMS Mobile interface works through the RDP interface. We have tested for both iOS and Android mobile devices. As long as the device support RDP app, it should work with Elliott WMS.

WMS Shipping Scanning Process Using Tablet PC

In this example, a picker has a bunch of orders to pick. A "staging batch" is created by a manager. The picker takes a cart with a lightweight tablet to pick this batch.

The tablet directs him to the bins to pick up the needed items. He picks the items from the bin and places them on the cart. Then he starts to scan each item, which dynamically updates the WMS to indicate that the corresponding items and serial numbers (if any) have been transferred from the bin to the cart.

Unlike many systems that rely on specialized barcode scanners, Elliott supports in-expensive off-the-shelf tablets, mobile devices and scanners. This results in a much more cost-effective implementation of a WMS solution.

Elliott WMS (Warehouse Management System) supports collecting item and bin data in the warehouse by using either tablets or mobile devices. Because the data can be collected right at the bin as the item is picked or put away, the bin inventory data is real time.

Fully Integrated

Unlike third-party WMS systems, which require integration with the back-end ERP systems, Elliott WMS is part of Elliott Business Software. That means Elliott WMS is fully integrated with Elliott Business Software. All functions work seamlessly back and forth and on a real-time basis.

Receiving & Put Away

Elliott WMS uses traditional Elliott receiving processes. Upon the posting of receiving transactions, the inventory is staged in a "Receiving" bin area and is ready to be put away on the shelf. A new put-away process is created so users can scan the bin and put received items on the shelf in real time.

Shipping, Staging & Verification

A new Pick Orders Processing function is created for the manager to dispatch orders printed with a pick ticket. Multiple orders can be combined as a batch to make the picking process more efficient. Warehouse staff goes through a Staging Verification to collect the bin and item informaton as they pick from the shelf. If wrong items are picked, the system will stop your staff right there. This makes the picking process more efficient and real time. Also, the paperwork (pick tickets) is not needed since the pick is processed through tablets or mobile devices.

The Shipping Verification is integrated with Staging Verification to allow items to be packaged by order. Users can optionally skip Staging Verification if they are dealing with serialized items since WMS cross-references by serial number and bin number. By scanning the serial number in Shipping Verification, the system knows automatically which bin to deduct quantity from.

Production

As production is completed and the production transaction is posted, the completed finished goods are now in the production bin. A new production put-away process is created, which is similar to the receiving put-away process.

Physical & Cycle Count

The new Physical & Cycle count process is designed with bar-code scanning in mind. Multiple staff members can quickly scan during physical inventory at different parts of the warehouse at the same time. This allows the physical count process to be completed much faster and much more accurately than the traditional count tag method. This means the physical count process no longer has to be a drain on your resources, and your company can be back to business in no time.

Replenishment Process

Most companies that have a warehouse usually separate bins into "Picking Bins" and "Remote Bins." "Remote Bins" are bins that are further away from the shipping areas or the bins located at higher locations in the warehouse, where some kind of equipment like a sky lift is needed in order to pick. Picking from "Remote Bins" is not efficient. On the other hand, "picking Bins" are those bins located closer to the shipping areas and the lower-level bins where no special equipment is needed. Picking from "Picking Bins" is efficient.

Therefore, the common principle to efficiently manage a warehouse is to assign a "Picking Bin" for each item and make sure that the bin is stocked so that staff members have easy access to these items when they need them. To ensure the "Picking Bin" always has inventory for picking, a new "Replenishment Process" was created in Elliott WMS. The "Replenishment Process" will advise warehouse management what items need to be transferred from the "Remote Bins" to the "Picking Bins."

The Replenishment Process usually takes place in the morning before the Shipping Process. It can be done by a different crew of people than the picking personnel. Usually, the replenishment people will have access to special equipment, such as like sky lifts or forklifts.

Dynamic Primary Bins

When a certain item's Primary Bin quantity is exhausted, the system can automatically change item's primary bin based on priority sequence. By enabling this feature, the user does not have to maintain the Primary Bin information in the item master table, which greatly simplifies the responsibility of the warehouse staff.

Serial Number and Multi-Bin Cross-Reference Support

In Elliott WMS, the serial number and multi-bin are crossed-referenced. That means you can find out in which bin an item is stocked using the serial number. Vice versa, for each bin, you can find out the serial number of items stocked in that bin.
